QB Keelon Russell was 18-of-30 for 256 yards and also led the rush with 13 carries for 86 yards and a score. Daniel Hill added nine rushes for 47 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Matched up against Kentucky in game two the Tide didn’t look very good in the first half. Alabama went into the locker room with a 17-13 halftime deficit but rallied from there on a 32-0 run for a 45-17 finish. Russell was 16-of-23 or 188 yards, one TD and two interceptions. Hill led the rush again with 18 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown of his own.

I’m going to take a stab on Florida State but you could make an argument either way. The Seminoles were able to hang with a good SMU team in their last game—even though they didn’t play all that well overall. Florida State mustered 324 yards (125 passing) with just 16 first downs and a 2-of-15 success rate on third-down tries. The defense gave up 585 yards (430 passing) on the other side but also came up with four takeaways. FSU has a little extra time to prep for this one, and there’s plenty to clean up.

As for Alabama, they took a while to get going in their win over Kentucky but played like a different team following the break. The Tide did commit three turnovers and posted eight penalties as a team, however the strong finish is encouraging. If Alabama is going to control this one firmly, they’ve got to start better.
