The Colorado Buffaloes and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet Thursday in college football action at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Here’s a Colorado vs Georgia Tech Prediction. This article will include a Colorado vs Georgia Tech Pick.

Colorado Buffaloes Betting Preview

Colorado won 3 games last season, and just 1 of those wins came in conference. The honeymoon is over for coach Deion Sanders as he enters his fourth year with the program.

Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion brings in his up-tempo offense and will have quarterback Julian Lewis running it. Colorado also has highly recruited Utah transfer Isaac Wilson, who could get reps. San Jose State transfer Danny Scudero is coming off a near 1,300-yard receiving season with 10 touchdowns. There are no familiar faces on the defensive side, which now belongs to defensive coordinator Chris Marve. Santana Hopper was a stud in one season with Tulane, and Liona Lefau had 138 total tackles with Texas. Colorado has to get tougher and has to be more competitive, or it will quickly become irrelevant once again.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

Georgia Tech was a surprise last year with 9 wins, and coach Brent Key enters his fourth season. Georgia Tech hasn’t won double-digit games since the 2014 season.

Brother of Fernando Mendoza, Alberto Mendoza, will start at quarterback and replace Haynes King. There’s a strong running back duo of Justice Haynes and Malachi Hosley, while speedy receiver Jordan Allen had 22 receptions as a freshman. There’s a new defensive coordinator in Jason Semore, and he has two strong linebackers in Kyle Efford and E.J. Lightsey to work with. There’s a lot of new faces in the secondary, but the front seven should hold up out of the gate. Georgia Tech is younger than it was a year ago and has new coaches, but Key has earned the benefit of the doubt as one of the better coaches in this conference. I expect the Yellow Jackets to compete and cruise to a fourth straight bowl appearance.

Colorado vs Georgia Tech Prediction

Colorado has some showing and proving to do before I can trust this team against decent competition. Colorado also has a new coaching staff, which doesn’t make things any easier to hit the ground running. Georgia Tech is breaking in a new quarterback, but there are skill position players around him and a defense that has guys. I also believe Key is one of the best coaches in the ACC, so I’m not worried about this group being unprepared. Georgia Tech should be able to bully Colorado with the ground game and play sound defense.

I’m just losing confidence in Colorado these days. The first year or two was fun. Give me Georgia Tech just under a full touchdown.

Randy Chambers's Pick: Georgia Tech -6.5
