Bethune-Cookman is coming off a six-win season, which was a four-win jump from the previous year. It feels like the Wildcats are in a good spot under coach Raymond Woodie Jr., who enters his fourth season with the program.
Bethune-Cookman has a home run hitter in running back Khamani Robinson, who averaged 5.8 yards per carry last season on 92 carries and scored 5 times. The Wildcats defense returns two of their top three tackles from last season in Stephen Sparrow and Naim Lassiter. We’ll see if Bethune-Cookman can hang with the big boys this season, as it got smoked in opening games last season against FIU and Miami by a combined score of 12-87.
UCF Knights Betting Preview
UCF won 5 games last season and enters the second season under coach Scott Frost. UCF is averaging five wins a season through three years in the Big 12.James Madison transfer Alonza Barnett III gets the nod at quarterback, and he has 5,433 yards and 49 touchdowns for his career. Top receiver Duane Thomas Jr. returns after 53 receptions, as well as tight end Dylan Wade, who had 5 touchdowns. A revamped offensive line has question marks. Defensively, UCF returns seven starters, including star linebacker Lewis Carter and cornerback Jayden Bellamy. UCF has proven talent on both sides of the ball. It’s bowl season or bust for the Knights. Otherwise, Frost could be looking for a new job.

If UCF is going to take a step forward and compete in the Big 12, this is a game where it flexes its muscle a bit. There are no excuses. The talent gap is large.
