Nebraska Cornhuskers Betting Preview
In their 2024 opener, the Cornhuskers faced off against UTEP. Nebraska won that one easily 40-7, then took out Colorado by a score of 28-10 in game two. Back on September 14 the Cornhuskers kept it going with another win 34-3 over Northern Iowa.
Nebraska took on a tricky Illinois team last Friday. The Cornhuskers were outscored 14-7 in the second half and eventually lost 31-24 in overtime. QB Dylan Raiola finished with 297 yards, three scores and a pick. Dante Dowdell led the rush on 72 yards from 20 carries.
Purdue Boilermakers Betting Preview
Over on the Purdue side, they experienced quite the dynamic in their first two outings. The opener was a pretty easy 49-0 blowout victory over Indiana State. The Boilermakers took on a tough Notre Dame team in game two however, and lost 66-7 in another blowout.
Back on Saturday versus Oregon State, Purdue faced a 17-7 deficit by halftime and eventually lost 38-21. Hudson Card threw for just 56 yards, one TD and a pick. Devin Mockobee carried 16 times for 168 yards and a score.

Nebraska vs Purdue Prediction
I’m going to lean toward Nebraska. The Cornhuskers need to shake off their Illinois loss here, and I think they will. In the defeat, Nebraska posted 345 total yards (48 rushing) with 20 first downs and 8-of-15 on third-down tries. The nine penalties for 89 yards didn’t help though, nor did the 25 first downs surrendered to the Illini.
As for Purdue, last weekend they looked pretty rough against a solid Oregon State team. The Boilermakers notched just 13 first downs and went 2-of-9 on third-down conversions alongside a pair of turnovers. Nebraska should be in control here and I like the Cornhuskers to assert themselves in a cover.
