The Eastern Kentucky Colonels are 0-1 this season after they lost to Mississippi State by a score of 56-7 in their first game. Eastern Kentucky fell behind in the first 32 seconds of the first quarter and it was a very long first half, but they did score with three seconds left to enter the half down 35-7. Eastern Kentucky was not able to score in the second half in the 49-point loss. EKU was out gained by a total of 450-295 and they were 8-20 on third downs in the loss. Matt Morrissey threw for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Joshua Carter rushed for 75 yards on 19 carries. 

Eastern Kentucky was about a 26 point underdog in their first game, but Mississippi State jumped all over them in the first half and was able to tack on in the second half for the easy cover. This will be an easier opponent for EKU, but they will need to be much better to keep it close. 

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers Betting Preview

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are 0-1 this year after they lost to Alabama by a score of 63-0 in their first game. Western Kentucky trailed 42-0 at the half and things didn’t get any better in the second half in the blowout loss. The Hilltoppers were out gained by a total of 600-145 and they were just 3-18 on third down in the loss. TJ Finley threw for 92 yards and two interceptions, while Elijah Young rushed for 18 yards on 10 carries. 

Western Kentucky was dominated in their opening game and they didn’t even break 150 yards of offense. The Hilltoppers will have a much easier opponent in this game and they will look to execute their game plan more effectively.
