Fleck Needs to be Willing to Chase for Minnesota

Minnesota coach PJ Fleck always talks about changing your best. This offseason if the Gophers want to take a step forward he needs to take that to heart and change his best this offseason. The Gophers need a win in this game and a big reason they are in this position is because they refuse to try and pull away from teams. Far too often Fleck tries to burn out clock, instead of trying to run up the score on teams. In the last game against Ohio State, the offense only managed three points and they lost by 34. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis only threw for 89 yards and an interception. The Gophers are averaging 20.7 points while their defense is giving up 26.8 points per game.

Wisconsin Looks for Seventh Win

Wisconsin hasn’t had the most successful season, but winning back the axe would go a long way in helping this team consider it a success. In the last game against Nebraska, the offense scored 24 points and that was enough for the win. They fell behind 14-0, but ended up fighting back to win. Quarterback Tanner Mordecei finished with 160 yards and a touchdown. Wisconsin on the season is averaging 22.4 points while their defense is giving up 19.4 points per game. The offense needs to be good in this game.

This game is going to be ugly and low scoring. I don’t trust either of these offenses, but especially this Gophers offense. Fleck is going to try to burn all kinds of clock in this game, and that is going to lead to this game being lower scoring. Kaliakmanis is also going to have a turnover or two. Neither of the teams are going to reach 14 points and the under is going to cash with ease.
