Colorado State Preview

The Colorado State Rams are 5-6 (3-4) this season after they defeated Nevada by a score of 30-20 last week. Colorado State led 20-13 at the half and they held Nevada to only seven points in the second half for the win. The Rams out gained Nevada by a total of 414-327 and forced two turnovers in the game. Colorado State defeated San Diego State by a score of 22-19 in the game before Nevada, and they remain alive for a bowl berth. The CSU offense is averaging 26.3 points per game with 305.5 passing yards per game and 91.5 rushing yards per game, while going 40% on third downs. Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has thrown for 3,143 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions for the Rams this season. Vann Schield has rushed for 389 yards and three touchdowns, while Tory Horton has caught 87 passes for 950 yards and seven scores. The Colorado State defense is giving up 29.8 points against per game this year.

Hawaii Preview

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors are 4-8 (2-5) this year after they lost to Wyoming by a score of 42-9 in their last game. Hawaii trailed 35-0 at the half, but they did score nine points in the third quarter to avoid being shutout. The Rainbow Warriors were out gained by a total of 319-278 and turned the ball over two times in the game. Hawaii’s two conference wins this season came against Air Force and Nevada. The Hawaii offense is scoring 21.1 points per game with 270.6 passing yards per game and 69.1 rushing yards per game, while going 36.5% on third downs. Brayden Schager has thrown for 3,222 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions for the Rainbow Warriors this season. Landon Sims has rushed for 219 yards and one touchdown, while Steven McBride has caught 57 passes for 942 yards and eight scores. Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Team Facts

  • Hawaii has won three of its last four November games as a home underdog.
  • Hawaii has covered the spread in each of its last four November games as a home underdog against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Hawaii has lost the first half in four of its last five home games against conference opponents.
  • Four of Hawaii's last five games against non-AP-ranked teams at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex have gone UNDER the total points line.

Colorado State Rams Team Facts

  • Colorado State has lost each of its last 10 November road games against non-AP-ranked teams.
  • Colorado State has failed to cover the spread in nine of its last 10 games as a favorite.
  • Five of Colorado State's last six games in November have gone UNDER the total points line.

Colorado State’s hopes for a bowl game didn’t look great a couple of games ago, as they were sitting at 3-6, but they have won two games in a row and are one win away. The Rams have a very good passing attack, but they turn the ball over way too much. Hawaii has been pretty inconsistent on offense this season, but their defense has been bad all year. This Colorado State passing attack should have a huge day against this Hawaii secondary and I think they get the job done here and get to a bowl game. Take the Rams in this matchup.

David’s Pick Colorado State -5.5
