The USC Trojans and Oregon Ducks face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college football showdown at Autzen Stadium.
Will USC’s Defense be Able to do Anything?
USC fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch this week and the hope is that will do something to improve the defense. The USC offense has been good this season, but the defense hasn’t been and it’s what has really held this team back. In the last game against Washington, USC’s offense scored 42 points, but the defense gave up 52 points and they ended up losing by ten. Caleb Williams did have a big game completing 27 of his 35 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. USC is averaging 45.5 points while their defense is giving up 34.5 points per game.
Oregon Looks to Keep Playoff Hoops Alive
Oregon sits with an 8-1 record overall and they are coming off another dominant victory in the last game. Oregon scored 63 points against the Cal Golden Bears and that was enough for the blowout victory. Bo Nix had another big game completing 29 of his 38 passes for 386 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Oregon on the season is averaging 47.4 points while their defense is giving up 16 points. The offense is the best in college football, but the defense is overlooked.
Shane’s Free Pick
USC is getting too many points here. USC’s problem this season hasn’t been the defense and even against a good defensive team, USC is going to have no issue running up the score here. I don’t think they are going to secure the win, but they are going to keep it within a touchdown. Caleb Williams is a competitor and he’s going to do everything in his power to keep it close. Back USC against the spread.
Shane’s Pick USC +15
