The Indiana Hoosiers will head up to Ann Arbor to meet the Michigan Wolverines this weekend from the Big House on Fox. Michigan holds a massive all-time series lead of, 61-10, after winning all but one meeting dating back to 1988.
Indiana Hoosiers Preview
Indiana dropped to 2-3 after losing to Maryland in College Park, 44-17. The Hoosiers were blitzed by the Terps from the opening whistle, and they face a very stiff test here in Ann Arbor. The Indiana offense is scoring 20.8 ppg, while passing for 224.0 ypg, rushing for 110.2 ypg, and converting 40% of their third downs.
IU Player Notes
• Tayven Jackson struggled on the against Maryland last time out, only passing for 113 yards with an interception. The freshman quarterback will retain his role as the starter despite being pulled for Brendan Sorsby, and he may face the stiffest unit he’ll see all season on this trip to Michigan. Jackson has thrown for 862 yards with two touchdowns to three interceptions thru four starts.
• Wake transfer Christian Turner has reached the 60-yes mark in back-to-back contests, and he’s up to 177 rushing yards on 40 carries.
• Donaven McCulley leads IU in receptions (18) for 208 yards, while Cam Camper is set to return to the lineup this weekend, and he’s first on the team in receiving yards (249), with 13 catches.
• The Indiana defense has allowed 24.4 points per game.
Michigan Wolverines Preview
Michigan jumped to 6-0 after punishing Minnesota in Minneapolis, 52-10. The Wolverines breezed to another massive victory, and they come into a good spot to do so once more. The Michigan offense is scoring 37.3 ppg, while passing for 229.7 ypg, rushing for 185.2 ypg, and converting 55.6% of their third downs.
UM Player Notes
• J.J. McCarthy put together another strong outing in the Twin Cities last week, passing for 219 yards with a score and a pair of touchdown runs. The junior quarterback has picked up right where he left off in 2022, and he’s been flawless in five of six games this season. McCarthy has passed for 1,290 yards, with eleven touchdowns to three interceptions thru six starts, and he’s added three scores on the ground as well.
• Senior back Blake Corum has also brought the same energy here in 2023, and after scoring multiple times in three of the first six games, he leads the Big Ten with ten rushing touchdowns, while leading Big Bkue with 494 yards on 83 carries.
• Senior wideout Roman Wilson has reached the 55-yard mark in five of six games, and he leads UM in receptions (22), receiving yards (382), and touchdown catches (8).
• The Michigan defense has allowed 6.6 points per game.

• Indiana is 3-2 against the spread, with a 3-2 O/U record.
• Michigan is 2-3-1 ATS, with a 2-4 over/under record.

Now this may be the massive Big Ten margin to swing on. There’s a real chance Indiana’s offense fails to find the endzone in this contest, and with Michigan dialed in on both sides of the ball right now, it may be best to lean on them to be dominant at home in this matchup. The Wolverines should find little trouble containing the IU offense in the Big House, and this one should simply come down to a matter of how much. Let’s roll with the khakis and Michigan to handle the lofty spread for this conference battle.
