The Appalachian State Mountaineers and Wyoming Cowboys face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at War Memorial Stadium.
Wyoming Looks for Third Win
Wyoming already has two wins this season and the only loss came against the Texas Longhorns in the last game. In the first game of the season, Wyoming faced off against Texas Tech, and they were able to secure the two point victory in overtime. In the last game against Texas, Wyoming only scored 10 points and that led to the 21 point defeat. Wyoming is averaging 25.3 points while their defense is giving up 27 points. One big question for Wyoming is the status of starting quarterback Andrew Heasley. He missed the last game with a shoulder injury and it’s unclear if he will be able to go in this game. If he can’t go it will be Evan Svoboda that gets the start.
Appalachian State always Looks for a Third Win
On the other side of this matchup is Appalachian State who also sit with a 2-1 record and their only loss came against North Carolina. They bounced back in a big way in the last game though. The Mountaineers scored 43 points and that was enough for the 15 point victory over East Carolina. Joey Aguilar completed 17 of his 29 passes for 214 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Nate Noel was the real star and he rushed 26 times for 178 yards and a touchdown. App State is averaging 40.7 points while their defense is giving up 30.7 points per game.
Shane’s Free Pick
Appalachian State is going to win this game outright. Nate Noel had quite the game in the last game and he’s going to find success again in this game. Wyoming only scored 10 points in the last game and they are going to struggle to move the ball again here. Look for the running game for Appalachian State to be the difference as they are going to get teh job done in this game. Back Appalachian State on the money line.
