The UAB Blazers and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Joe Aillet Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was UTAB that secured the 52-38 victory. 

UAB comes into this game with a 5-6 record and they have gone 4-7 against the spread. The last game for UAB came against LSU and they really struggled. The defense was awful, but the offense only managed 10 points, and that led to them not having any real chance. Quarterback Dylan Hopkins completed 14 of his 29 passes for 158 yards. UAB is averaging 30 points while their defense is giving up 23.1 points per game. On the season Hopkins has thrown for 1,625 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. 

On the other side of this matchup is Louisana Tech who sits with a 3-8 record and they have gone 5-6 against the spread. In the last game against Charlotte, the offense scored 21 points, but the defense gave up 26 points. Landy Lyddy completed 23 of his 31 passes for 213 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Bulldogs are averaging 29.2 points while their defense is giving up 38 points per game. The offense is ranked 60th in the league, and they need the offense to be good here. The turnovers were an issue for the Bulldogs in the last game, and that can’t be a problem again here. 

The Blazers are 18-6-2 against the spread in their last 26 games following a straight up loss. Louisiana Tech is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games. The over is 5-0 in UAB’s last five games in November. The underdog is 4-0-1 against the spread in the last five games between UAB and Louisiana Tech. 

Louisiana Tech is a terrible offensive team, and they are averaging only 21 points per game. UAB has a strong quarterback in Hopkins, and UAB is going to have no issue running up the score in this game. The Bulldogs are going to have issues even reaching 10 points here, and Louisiana Tech will cover the spread.
