The Appalachian State Mountaineers and Georgia Southern Eagles face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Paulson Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Appalachian State that secured the 27-3 victory.

The Eagles have lost three games in a row and over the last two games the offense has scored only 27 points total. Georgia Southern is averaging 32.1 points while their defense is giving up 30.9 points per game. On the season Kyle Vantrease has thrown for 3.512 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. Jalen White has rushed 162 times for 914 yards and 10 touchdowns.
This team is a true toss up to me, and I think the value is with the underdog. Vantrease is having a big season throwing for 22 touchdowns, and I expect he is going to find success here. Appalachian State at times has played down to the competition, and Georgia Southern’s offense is going to find success here.
