The Arkansas Razorbacks and Missouri Tigers face off on Friday in a college football showdown at Faurot Field. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Arkansas that secured the 34-17.
Arkansas comes into this game with a 6-5 record and they have gone 6-5 against the spread. Arkansas has been inconsistent this season but they are coming off a win in the last game. At the end of the first quarter, Arkansas was up 14-3 against Ole Miss and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. KJ Jefferson completed 17 of his 32 passes for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Arkansas is averaging 31 points while their defense is giving up 28.7 points per game. In this game, Arkansas needs a big game from Jefferson here if they want to win.
On the other side of this matchup is Missouri who sits with a 5-6 record and they have gone 6-5 against the spread. Missouri needs a win here to clinch a bowl, but they have had a few close losses this season. In the last game against New Mexico State the offense scored 45 points, and that led to the 31-point victory. Quarterback Brady Cook had a big game completing 19 of his 27 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. Missouri is averaging 25.2 points while their defense is giving up 24.8 points per game.
The Razorbacks are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The under is 8-1 in Missouri’s last nine conference games. The under is 6-1 in the Tigers last seven games on Friday. The under is 6-1 in the Razorbacks last seven games against a team with a losing record.
Missouri is going to miss out on a bowl this year. I’m not sold on this Missouri defense, and KJ Jefferson looked really good in the last game. Look for Arkansas to score at least 31 points here, and that is going to be the difference here. Back the Razorbacks to come away with a cover of the spread.
