The San Jose Spartans and Utah State Aggies face off on Saturday in a Mountain West college football showdown at Maverik Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was Utah State that secured the 48-17 victory.

San Jose State comes into this game with a 6-3 record overall and they have gone 4-5 against the spread. In the last game against San Diego State, the defense really struggled giving up 43 points and that led to the 16-point defeat. The defense is ranked 19th, and is going to need to be better here.

Running back Calvin Tyler Jr. finished with 25 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown. Utah State is averaging 22.1 points while their defense is giving up 29.4 points per game.

San Jose State is 0-6 against the spread in their last six meetings against Utah State. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between San Jose State and Utah State.

San Jose State has struggled to cover spreads coming into this game, and their defense looked really bad in the last game, giving up 43 points. Utah State is averaging only 22.1 points per game, and they will go above that number here. This is going to be an easy victory for Utah State. Back Utah State against the spread.
