The Ole Miss Rebels will cross the border and head west to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks from Reynolds Razorback Stadium on the SEC Network. Arkansas and Ole Miss have crossed paths in every season since 1981, with the Razorbacks holding a 36-29-1 all-time series lead.
Ole Miss dropped to 8-2 after losing to Alabama at home in Week 11. The script was set for Lane Kiffin to put the final coffin in Bama’s season, but instead they fell victim to another statement performance from reigning Heisman trophy winner Bryce Young and took a six-point loss. Ole Miss scores 36.1 points per game, while passing for 225.9 yards per game (146th), and rushing for 259.9 ypg (6th). The Rebel defense is allowing 22.4 points per game.
Jaxson Dart has improved big time since coming from USC. The sophomore quarterback has hurt teams with both his arm and leg, passing for three touchdowns in three of the last five games, and rushing for over 100 yards in the ash two games. Dart has passed for 2.123 yards with 16 touchdowns to seven interceptions, and he’s rushed for 508 yards through ten starts.
Quinshon Judkins and Zach Evans make up the best running back tandem in the country. Judkins has surpassed the 120-yard mark in five of the last seven games, and he leads Ole Miss with 1,171 rushing yards and a nation-leading 15 touchdowns. Evans, a TCU transfer, has added 692 yards and seven scores through nine games. Jonathan Mingo (37/723/5) and Malik Heath (38/614/3) give the Rebels two big bodied receivers.
Arkansas fell to 5-5 after losing to LSU at home in Week 11. The Razorbacks went to war without starting quarterback K.J. Jefferson, and they fell to .500 after losing a classic SEC-type battle, 13-10. Arkansas scores 29.9 points per game, while passing for 238.6 yards per game (113th), and rushing for 223.3 ypg (26th). The OU defense is allowing 28.9 points per game.
KJ Jefferson’s status for this one will be make or break. The junior quarterback missed his third start of the season last weekend, and after scoring just ten points but losing by just three to a hot LSU team, there’s no doubt Arkansas needs him to be available at this point. Cade Fortin and Malik Hornsby may split the calls again versus Ole Miss this weekend.
Raheem Sanders has been productive in the lead role this season. The sophomore back set four career-highs this season, and despite a pair of quiet outings, he’s due for an outburst soon. Sanders is up to 1,147 rushing yards and seven touchdowns for the season. Jaden Haselwood leads the wideout core with 49 receptions and 592 yards.
Ole Miss is 4-6 against the spread this season, with a 1-4 record on the road. Arkansas is 6-4 against the spread this season, with a 3-3 record at home. Ole Miss is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in November. Arkansas is 2-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
Arkansas had such high hopes coming into SEC play, but all aspirations have been altered due to the availability of KJ Jefferson. The Razorbacks have struggled to produce when he’s unavailable, and they're going to have a tough time keeping up with the Rebels if he can’t go.
Ole Miss could be looking at a ten-win season when they host Mississippi State for the Egg Bowl next weekend with a strong performance in Fayetteville, so look for them to close the 2022 season on a peak note. Take Ole Miss’ spread here.
