Louisiana at Florida State - 11/19/22 College Football Picks and Prediction
The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and Floria State Seminoles face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Doak Campbell Stadium. This is the first meeting in recent years between the two teams.
Louisiana comes into this game with a 5-5 record and they have gone 6-4 against the spread. In the last game against Georgia Southern, Louisiana scored 36 points, and that was enough to secure the 19 point victory. The Ragin Cajuns had lost two games in a row before winning in their last game. Ben Wooldridge had a big game in the last one completing 17 of his 31 passes for 193 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Louisiana is averaging 26.6 points while their defense is giving up 21.2 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is Florida State who sits with a 7-3 record and they have gone 7-3 against the spread. In the last game against Syracuse, the Seminoles had another big game putting up 38 points, and that led to the blowout victory. Ove the last three games Florida State has given up only 22 points total. Jordan Travis completed 21 of his 23 passes for 155 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Trey Benson finished with 18 carries for 163 yards and zero touchdowns. The Seminoles are averaging 34 points while their defense is giving up 18.1 points per game. If the defense is good here, Florida State should have another easy victory.
Louisiana is 5-1 against the spread in their last six non-conference games. Florida State is 5-0 against the spread in their last five games in November. The under is 4-1 in Louisiana’s last five games against a team with a winning record. The over is 5-2 in Louisiana’s last seven road games.
This isn’t the same Louisiana team as the last few years, and I don’t trust them to move the ball against this Seminoles defense. Florida State has been quite impressive the last few games with their defense, and that defense is going to be good again in this game. Look for a 31-3 or 38-3 type of game, and Florida State will cover the spread.
