The Iowa State Cyclones and Oklahoma State Cowboys face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium. 

Iowa State comes into this game with a 4-5 record overall and they have gone 4-4-1 against the spread. In the last game against West Virginia, Iowa State scored 31 points and that was enough to secure an easy victory. Hunter Dekkers had a strong game completing 24 of his 36 passes for 219 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Iowa State is averaging 22.7 points while their defense is giving up 16.3 points per game. The defense is ranked 9th in college football and will need to be good here. 

On the other side of this matchup is Oklahoma State which sits with a 6-3 record overall and they have gone 5-4 against the spread. Oklahoma State has lost two straight games and they have looked awful in each of the games. Two games ago they lost to Kansas State 48-0 and in the last game, they lost to Kansas 37-16. Under center for Oklahoma State is Garrett Rangel and he completed 27 of his 40 passes for 304 yards. Two touchdowns and three interceptions. Bryson Green did have a big game catching nine passes for 105 yards. Oklahoma State is averaging 36.6 points while their defense is giving up 31.8 points per game. In this game, the defense needs to be better.

The Cyclones are 5-2 in their last seven games in December. The Cowboys are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following a straight-up loss. Iowa State is 2-5 against the spread in thier last seven meetings in Oklahoma State. The underdog is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven meetings played between the two teams. 

Oklahoma State’s defense has been an issue heading into this game but Iowa State isn’t exactly known for its offense. I expect a bounce-back game from Rangel here, and Iowa State is going to have another game where they struggle to score.
