The Oregon Ducks and Colorado Buffaloes face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Folsom Field. When these two faced off last year it was Oregon that was able to secure the 52-29 victory.
The Ducks come into this game with a 7-1 record overall and the only loss came against the Georgia Bulldogs to start the season. In the last game against Cal, Oregon struggled was down 3-0 at the end of the first quarter, but they scored 21 points in the second quarter and never looked back. Bo Nix was explosive again through the air throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns. Nix also did have two interceptions, and those will need to be cleaned up. Oregon is averaging 42.4 points while their defense is giving up 28.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 5th in college football.
On the other side of this matchup is Colorado who sit with a 1-7 record overall and they have gone 2-6 against the spread. In the last game against Arizona State they were competitive but ended up losing 42-34. The Buffaloes started J.T. Shrout and he completed 13 of his 34 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Deion Smith rushed 24 times for 111 yards and a touchdown. Colorado overall this year is averaging 16.3 points while their defense is giving up 39.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 126th while the defense is ranked 129th.
Oregon is 4-0 against the spread in thier last four games. Colorado is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall. The favorite is 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings played between the two teams. The Ducks are 6-2 against the spread in the last eight meetings against Colorado.
Colorado’s offense overall this season has been an issue, and it’s going to be an issue again in this game. Look for another big game from Bo Nix, and the Oregon Ducks are going to get over 50 points here. There has to be some worry about a backdoor cover with Oregon rests some starters late, but I don’t think that will happen. Back Oregon against the spread.
