The Maryland Terrapins and Wisconsin Badgers face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Camp Randall Stadium. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2017 it was Wisconsin that was able to secure the 38-17 victory. 

Maryland comes into this game with a 6-2 record overall and they have gone 4-4 against the spread. In the last game against Northwestern, it was closer than they had hoped for, but they scored 31 points, and that was enough to secure the win by seven points. Billy Edwards Jr was under center and he completed 18 of his 28 passes for 166 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. Taulia Tagovailoa missed that game with a knee injury but he’s expected to start again in this game. Maryland is averaging 34.1 points while their defense is giving up 24.1 points per game. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Wisconsin Badgers who sit with a 4-4 record overall but they are coming off a big win. The Badgers offense put up 35 points against Purdue, and were able to secure the 11 point victory. Graham Mertz had a nice game completing 13 of his 21 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Overall this season Wisconsin is averaging 31.8 points while their defense is giving up 21.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 52nd in college football, but most important in this game will be the defense.

Maryland is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. Wisconsin is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven conference games. The over is 5-1 in Maryland’s last six games. The over is 6-0 in the Badgers last six games.

The Badgers offense has a ton of confidence heading into this game, and this Maryland defense isn’t good. I expect the Badgers to score at least 35 points like they did in the last game, and that will lead to a high scoring game. With Tagovailoa back, the Terrapins offense will also be good, and the over is going to cash here. I love this play.
