One of the SEC's peak rivalries will receive another chapter when Florida and Georgia collide in Jacksonville on CBS this weekend. Georgia leads the all-time series 54-44, but each school has impressively claimed seven of the last 14 victories.

Florida is 4-3 after losing to LSU at the Swamp in Week 7. The Gators had no answer for LSU QB Jayden Daniels, as he stung them for six total touchdowns, leading the Tigers to a 45-35 win. Florida is scoring 31.4 points per game, while passing for 217.2 yards per game (174th), and rushing for 213.2 ypg (30th). The Gator defense is allowing 28.1 points per game.

Anthony Richardson will lead the Gators into Jacksonville on the heels of another solid, yet losing effort. The sophomore quarterback eclipse the 100-yard mark on the ground for the first time this season, but couldn’t keep up with LSU last time out. He’ll face an uphill battle with the UGA defense, but his dual threat ability will at least be able to extend a few places. Richardson has passed for 1,367 yards with six touchdowns to seven interceptions, while rushing for 395 yards and six more scores.

Montrell Johnson and Trevor Etienne split the load alongside Richardson. Johnson has scored in all but one game this season, and he leads Florida with 425 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Etienne scored for the first time since Week 3 last weekend, and he’s rushed for 334 yards. Xzavier Henderson paces the team with 27 receptions, while big play threat Justin Shorter leads the group with 405 receiving yards.

Georgia is 7-0 after defeating Vanderbilt in Week 7. The Bulldogs pounded the Commodores for their homecoming, outgaining them 579-150.Georgia is 41.7 scoring points per game, while passing for 329.6 yards per game (10th) and rushing for 196.7 ypg. The Georgia defense is allowing just 9.1 points, which is second in the entire country.

Stenson Bennett is enjoying another strong season behind center in Athens. The senior quarterback comes into his biggest game since Week 1 on the heels of his best start of the season versus Vanderbilt and he should give UF trouble for the third year in a row. Bennett has passed for 2,033 passing yards with seven  touchdowns to one interception, while adding 5 scores on the ground.

Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh split the load in the UGA backfield. Edwards has scored five times in the last three weeks, and he leads the Dawgs with 336 rushing yards. McIntosh has added 242 rushing yards, 28 catches and 270 receiving yards thus far. Ladd McConkey leads the wideout room with 29 receptions, while electric tight end Brock Bowers leads Georgia with 393 receiving yards.

Florida is 2-5  against the spread this season, with a 0-1 record away from home. Georgia is 4-3 against the spread this season, with a 1-1 record away from home. The Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings.

The Florida/Georgia matchup is bittersweet, because while it’s one of college football’s best rivalries, it signals the end of the regular season. These two SEC powers enter this bout in different spots as programs. Georgia has looked great this season, and look like the favorites to lift the CFB Playoff trophy again, Florida hasn’t looked nearly as sharp this season, and a lost here would send them to the cellar of the SEC East.

In a contest that could be lopsided, Florida can only hope to provide a scare and spoil the Dawgs perfect season at this point. Georgia should keep things rolling heading into the final third of the season with an assertive victory and cover here in Jacksonville. All eyes will be in Athens next week, and with Tennessee coming to town, Georgia can’t let their foot off the gas here. Take Georgia's spread here.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
