Utah comes into this game with a 4-2 record overall but they were defeated in their last game against UCLA. Utah scored 32 points, but the defense gave up 42 points, and that led to the 10-point defeat. Under center for Utah is Cameron Rising and in the last game, he completed 23 of his 32 passes for 287 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Utah on the season is averaging 40.3 points while their defense is giving up 19 points per game. Utah’s offense is ranked 14th in the league. 

On the other side of this matchup is the USC Trojans who sit with a 6-0 record and with a win here, they are in great shape for the college football playoff. In the last game against Washington State they gave up 14 points in the second quarter, but that was the only points they gave up and they ended up with a 30-14 victory. Caleb Williams completed 15 of his 29 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. USC is averaging 40.2 points while their defense is giving up 18.7 points per game.

USC is 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games. Utah is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games. The over is 5-2 in USC’s last seven games in October. The over is 6-0 in Utah’s last six games in October. The Under is 10-2-1 in the Utes last 13 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

When Utah has struggled this season it’s been against quarterbacks that are mobile. Williams is a mobile quarterback and he’s going to have a big game here. I think USC is going to run up the score against Utah, and that will be enough to get the job done. I think USC wins this game outright, but I will take the points to be safe.
