North Carolina at Miami - 10/8/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The North Carolina Tar Heels and Miami Hurricanes face off on Saturday in an ACC college football showdown at Hard Rock Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2021 it was North Carolina that won 45-42. 

The Hurricanes come into this game with a 2-2 record overall but they are coming off a shocking loss in their last game. The offense scored 31 points against Middle Tennessee, but the defense gave up 45 points and which led to the defeat. Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke completed 16 of his 32 passes for 138 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He was benched in the last game, but he will be moving back into the starting lineup in this game. The Hurricanes are averaging 35 points while their defense is giving up 20.5 points. In this game, the offense is going to need to have a big game. 

On the other side of this matchup is North Carolina who sits with a 4-1 record overall and they got back on the right track in the last game. The offense scored 41 points against Virginia Tech which was impressive but even more was the defense only giving up 10 points. Quarterback Drake Maye completed 26 of his 36 passes for 363 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed another 13 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns. North Carolina is averaging 45.4 points while their defense is giving up 33.6 points per game. The defense has been a major problem, and that will be the key if they want to secure this victory.
