The Southern Miss Golden Eagles and Tulane Green Wave face off on Saturday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Yulman Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was Tulane that was able to secure the 66-24 victory.

Tulane comes into this game with a 3-0 perfect record, and they were quite impressive in the last game. In the last game against Kansas State, Tulane’s defense was elite giving up only 10 points and that led to the seven-point victory. Under center for Tulane is Michael Pratt and he completed 13 of his 26 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Tulane’s offense hasn’t been great this season, but the defense is elite. They are giving up only 6.67 runs per game which is 6th best in the league. 

On the other side of this matchup is Southern Miss who sit with an 1-2 record overall and the only win was against Northwestern State. In the first game, Southern Miss lost to Liberty 29-27 in overtime, and in the second game, they lost to Miami 30-7. Southern Miss is averaging 32.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 23 points per game. The offense is ranked 66th in the league while the defense is ranked 60th. Southern Miss has used three different quarterbacks this season and it’s unclear who they are going to start in this game. 

Southern Miss is 6-0 against the spread in their last six non-conference games. The under is 5-0 in Tulane’s last five home games. The Under is 6-0 in Green Wave last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The Golden Eagles are 6-0 against the spread  in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game.

Tulane defense gave up only 10 points in the last game to Kansas State, and Southern Miss is going to struggle to get that 10-point mark. I also don’t expect Tulane to really run up the score and that is going to be the difference as this game stays low scoring. Back the under to cash here .
