Coastal Carolina at Georgia State 9/22/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and Georgia State Panthers face off on Thursday in a Week 4 college football showdown at Turner Field. When these two teams faced in November 2021 it was Georgia State that secured the 42-40 victory. 

Coastal Carolina comes into this game with a perfect 3-0 record having knocked off Army, Garner, Webb, and Buffalo. The Chanticleers are averaging 35.7 runs per game, while their defense is giving up 27 points per game. In the last game against Buffalo, Coastal Carolina scored 38 points and that was enough to secure the victory. Grayson McCall completed 16 of his 24 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. CJ Beasley rushed nine times for 89 yards and one touchdown. The top receiver caught five passes for 103 yards. 

On the other side of this matchup is Georgia State, who sits with an 0-3 record, but the last two games have been close. In the last game against Charlotte, the offense scored 41 points, but the defense gave up 42 points and that led to the defeat. Under center for Georgia State is Darren Grainger, and he completed 22 of his 34 passes for 343 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Tucker Gregg rushed 23 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns. In the last game, the defense really didn’t look good very good, and that is going to need to be improved upon in a big way in this game.
