The Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at Williams-Brice Stadium. 

The Georgia Bulldogs have been impressive to start the season winning each of the first two games. Georgia opened up the season with a 49-3 victory over the Oregon Ducks and followed that up with a 33-0 victory over the Samford Bulldogs. At halftime they were up 30-0 and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Stetson Bennett has taken a big step forward this season and in the last game he completed 24 of his 34 passes for 300 yards and a touchdown. Kendal Milton rushed 10 times for 85 yards. Brock Bowers caught three passes for 57 yards. The defense is still elite, and as good as the offense has been, the defense might even better. 

On the other side of this matchup is South Carolina who sits with a 1-1 record so far this season. South Carolina opened up the season with a 35-14 record over Georgia State, but they were defeated 44-30 in the last game against Arkansas South Carolina scored 30 points, but the defense gave up 44 points and that led to the defeat. Quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 24 of his 39 passes for 376 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Antwane Wells Jr also had eight passes for 189 yards and a touchdown. The running game wasn’t great in the first game, and will need to be better in this game. The defense also didn’t look good giving up 44 points.

Georgia is 35-16 against the spread in their last 51 road games. South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games. The over is 7-2 in the last nine meetings between the two teams. The road team is 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings. 

South Carolina’s defense was awful in the last game giving up 44 points, and they are going to struggle to slow down this Georgia offense. Georgia’s defense is going to lockdown the offense of South Carolina, and that will be the difference here as Georgia gets the job done here. Back Georgia to cover the spread.
