The Western Michigan Broncos and Ball State Cardinals face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Scheumann Stadium. When these two teams faced off in October of 2021 it was Ball State that secured the 45-20 victory.

Western Michigan had a tough test in their first game of the season and they were defeated 35-13 at the hands of Eastern Michigan. Western Michigan didn’t actually play that bad, but they just couldn’t find enough offense to keep the game close. The offense might have been a bit unlucky to only score 10 points, but their defense was awful giving up the 59 points. Quarterback John Paddock completed 27 of his 43 passes for 269 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Wide receiver Jayshon Jackson had a big game with five catches and 65 yards. The defense was a problem allowing over 350 yards through the air.
