The Texas Longhorns are 1-0 this season after defeating Louisiana-Monroe by a score of 52-10. Texas gave up a field goal in the first quarter, but didn’t give up anything else until just less than four minutes left in the game. Bijan Robinson rushed for 71 yards and one score, while Ja’Tavion Sanders caught six passes for 85 yards and one touchdown in the win. The Texas defense held ULM to 259 yards and forced one turnover.
Alabama is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games on fieldturf. The under is 4-1 in Alabama’s last 5 games. Texas is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games. The under is 6-1 in Texas’ last 7 games.
Alabama absolutely destroyed Utah State and was able to pitch a shutout on defense. Texas blew out ULM, but the Longhorns defense did give up some yards. As good as the Alabama offense was, I was more impressed with their defense and I think they will shut the Texas offense down. This will be a huge test for Texas, especially with Quinn Ewers starting. I think the Texas defense will definitely struggle trying to contain Alabama as well. I like Alabama to pull away in the second half here.
