The Buffalo Bulls will play the Maryland Terrapins in a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon in College Park.

The Buffalo Bulls were 4-8 last season and finished the year on a four game losing streak. Buffalo struggled in 2021 and only beat three FBS teams. Buffalo’s defense was not good last season and allowed 33 or more points in three of their last four games. The Bulls did get some transfers, but I don’t expect a ton of improvement from that unit in this game. On offense, Buffalo loses a lot from last season and will look to some new faces to find success. Buffalo might be better as the season goes on, but they are in for a rough game against Maryland.

The Maryland Terrapins were 7-6 last season and won the Pinstripe Bowl against Virginia Tech by a score of 54-10. Maryland started 2021 very strong and had plenty of momentum, before getting drilled by Iowa by a score of 51-14 at home. After that, the Terrapins only won two more regular season games before the Bowl win. Taulia Tagovailoa returns at quarterback and the offense should be one of the better units in the Big Ten. On defense, Maryland gave up a lot of points last season to teams the better teams they played. Maryland needs to find a way to force more turnovers to be more successful on defense.

The Terrapins offense should be able to move the ball up and down the field all day, while the Buffalo offense shouldn’t be anything special. Tagovailoa should have a huge day throwing the ball to set the tone for the rest of the seaosn. I like Maryland to win big here.
