Alamo Bowl: Oregon at Oklahoma: 12/29/21 College Football Picks and Predictions

The Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma Sooners face off on Wednesday in a college football showdown in the Alamo Bowl at the Alamodome. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2006 and it was Oregon that won 34-33. 

Oregon comes into this game with a 10-3 record overall and they have gone 5-8 against the spread. Oregon has found success this season, but losing two of their last three games against Utah really cost them a chance to maybe even make the college football playoff. In the last game against Utah, the offense could only manage 10 points and that led to the 28 point defeat. Oregon is averaging 31.4 points while their defense is giving up 25.5 points per game. Under center for Oregon is Anthony Brown who has thrown for 2,683 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In this game, Oregon is going to need Brown to have a big game. Oregon is super banged up heading into this game and they are expected to have over 30 players out. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Oklahoma Sooners who sit with a 10-2 record and they have gone 5-6-1 record overall. In the last game against Oklahoma State, the offense scored 33 points, but their defense gave up 37 points, and that led to the four point defeat.  Oklahoma has gone through a lot over the last few games including a coaching change. The good news for this team is they still have Caleb Williams and he has thrown for 1,670 yards, 18 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Oklahoma is averaging 38.4 points while their defense is giving up 25.3 points per game.
