LA Bowl: Utah State at Oregon State 12/18/21 College Football Picks and Prediction
The Oregon State Beavers will take on the Utah State Aggies on Saturday night in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium.
Oregon State enters this one after losing to rival Oregon to end the season. Chance Nolan was decent in that one as he. He completed 25 of 39 passing attempts for 2 touchdowns and one interception. He had a QBR of 89.5 in the loss.
This offense is led by QB Chance Nolan. Nolan is 183 of 288 passing for 2,414 yards with 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also added three rushing scores as he has been filling in for the injured Tristian Gebbia all season long.
The Beavers average 32.8 points per game which is 35th nationally. They also accumulated 430.5 yards per game. Oregon State's defense had its fair share of struggles as they allowed 25.92 points and 387.8 yards per contest to rank below the national average.
Eastern Michigan is 46th in the FBS in scoring offense as they put up an average of 31 points per game and 381.6 yards per game. They are 82nd in scoring defense as they are allowing 27.8 points per contest. Defensively, the Eagles have struggled as they allow 430.3 yards a game.
Utah is finishing one of their best, if not the best, seasons in school history. After winning just one game last season, they won the Mountain West title for the first time in program history this year. The Aggies of Utah State are coming off of a win against San Diego State in their conference championship. Quarterback Logan Bonner finished 29/42 passing for 318 yards, four touchdowns and one interception against the Aztecs. He had a QBR of 93.
Logan Bonner has completed 257 of 420 passes for 3,554 yards, 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
This was a prolific offense with Utah State averaging 33.2 points and 450.4 yards per game to rank inside the top 30 nationally in both categories. The Aggies struggled some on the defensive side, allowing 25.31 points and 391 yards per game.
The Aggies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win. The Beavers will make it tough but the Aggies have been defying the odds all season long and I think that continues in the LA Bowl.
