Wisconsin at Minnesota: 11/27/21 College Football Picks and Predictions

The Wisconsin Badgers and Minnesota Golden Gophers face off in a college football showdown for the axe at Huntington Bank Stadium.  The Big Ten Championship is on the line for each of these teams. 

Wisconsin comes into this game with an 8-3 record and they have gone 6-5 against the spread. In the last game against Nebraska it was closer than they wanted, but they were able to make the plays late to come away with the 35-28 victory. Running back Braelon Allen had quite the game finishing with 228 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Wisconsin is averaging 27 points while their defense is giving up 15.8 points per game. Overall this season, Allen has rushed for 1,062 yards and 12 touchdowns. In this game if the defense is good, they will be in good shape to come away with the victory. 

On the other side of this matchup is Minnesota who sits with a 7-4 record and they have gone 6-4-1 against the spread. In the last game against Indiana it was the offense that was strong putting up 35 points and that led to the victory. Minnesota is averaging 26.4 points while their defense is giving up 18.7 points. The Gophers have dealt with a ton of injuries to their running back position but this is still a strong group for them. Ky Thomas has rushed for 625 yards and four touchdowns. Mar’keise Irving has also rushed for 531 yards and four touchdowns. In this game if Minnesota wants any chance to come away with a victory they are going to need to control the pace of play with their running game.
