The Tulane Green Wave and Memphis Tigers face off on Saturday in a college football showdown at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. When these two faced off last December, it was Tulane that won 35-21.

The Tulane Green Wave come into this game with a 2-9 record and they have gone 5-6 against the spread. Even though they have struggled, Tulane is coming off a 45-14 victory over South Florida. Tulane is averaging 27.6 points while their defense is giving up 34.09 points per game. Under center for Tulane is Michael Pratt who has thrown for 2,344 yards, 20 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Tyjae Spears and Cameron Carrell have both rushed for over 500 yards this season. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Memphis Tigers who need a win in this game to become bowl eligible. Memphis currently sits with a 5-6 record overall and they have gone 4-7 against the spread. In the last game against Houston, Memphis could only get 13 points out of the offense, and that led to the defeat. Two games ago against East Carolina they were more competitive, but they still lost the game by a point in overtime. Under center for Memphis is Seth Henigan who has thrown for 2,986 yards, 22 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Brandon Thomas has also rushed for 669 yards and eight touchdowns.

Tulane is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games. Memphis is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight home games. Tulane is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven meetings in Memphis. The under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings. The home team is 5-0 against the spread in the last five meetings played between the two teams. 

Tulane is one of the only teams that I would feel comfortable laying six points against for Memphis. Memphis has the better offensive team, and they are going to find success against the Tulane defense. Look for the Memphis Tigers to pull away late, and they will come away with the cover the spread.
