The Nevada Wolf Pack will travel to Canvas Stadium to take on the Colorado State Rams this Saturday night in College Football action.
The Nevada Wolf Pack lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 7-4 on the season after being defeated by the Air Force Falcons, 41-39 (3OT), on November 19th. Nevada was able to force OT after scoring 14-unanswered points in the 4th quarter, however, after Air Force converted the 2-point conversation to start the 3rd OT, Nevada’s game-tying effort came up short. Nevada won the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin, however, was outgained by Air Force by a 499-369 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Wolf Pack was QB Carson Strong who completed 27 of 44 passes for 351 yards, 4 TD, & 1 INT.
On the season, Nevada is averaging 35.3 ppg on 431.5 total yards per game (371.6 passing yds/g; 59.9 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Nevada has been led by QB Carson Strong who has completed 69.7% of his passes for 3887 yards, 32 TD, & 8 INT. The top receiving threats for the Wolf Pack have been Romeo Doubs (75 rec, 1012 yards, 9 TD), Cole Turner (60 rec, 672 yards, 10 TD), Melquan Stovall (52 rec, 608 yards, TD), & Tory Horton (48 rec, 546 yards, 3 TD). Leading the way for the Wolf Pack backfield has been the duo of Toa Taua (125 att, 635 yards, 5 TD) & Devonte Lee (71 att, 189 yards, 3 TD).
Defensively, Nevada is allowing their opponents to average 25.7 ppg on 394.2 total yards per game (225.2 passing yds/g; 169.0 rushing yds/g).
The Colorado State Rams lost their 5th straight game and dropped to 3-8 on the season after being defeated by the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, 50-45, this past Saturday night. Colorado State had no answers for the Hawaii offensive attack and could not fight back after a 37-yard TD run by Hawaii’s Dedrick Parson gave the Rainbow Warriors a 50-38 lead with just 2:27 left in the 4th quarter. Colorado State outgained Hawaii by a 651-535 margin, however, lost the turnover battle by a 3-2 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Rams was QB Todd Centeio who completed 29 of 48 passes for 527 yards, 5 TD, & 2 INT.
On the season, Colorado State is averaging 24.9 ppg on 413.3 total yards per game (255.2 passing yds/g; 158.1 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Colorado State has been led by TE Trey McBride who has 84 receptions for 1008 yards & 1 TD. QB Todd Centeio has completed 60.1% of his passes for 2773 yards, 15 TD, & 8 INT. The top receivers outside of Trey McBride have been Dante Wright (38 rec, 495 yards, 3 TD), Ty McCullouch (23 rec, 408 yards, TD), Gary Williams (18 rec, 257 yards, 5 TD) & Cam Butler (9 rec, 160 yards, 3 TD). Leading the way for the Colorado State backfield has been David Bailey who has 738 rushing yards & 9 TD on 190 carries.
Defensively, Colorado State is allowing their opponents to average 26.1 ppg on 363.6 total yards per game (202.8 passing yds/g; 160.8 rushing yds/g).
The Wolf Pack are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss & 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Rams are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall & 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in November.
Colorado State certainly has some weapons on the offensive end, led by arguably the best NFL TE prospect in Trey McBride, however, this is a team that hasn’t been able to overcome a struggling defense that is allowing their opponents to average 34.0 ppg during their 5-game losing streak. Nevada has been great offensively this season as they come into this game ranked 23rd in scoring offense & 4th in passing offense and as I think the Wolf Pack have no trouble putting up plenty of points in this one, I think Nevada does enough on the road here to cover this small spread. Good Luck!
