The California Golden Bears and Stanford Cardinal face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college football showdown at Stanford Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2020 it was Stanford that won 24-23.

The Cal Golden Bears sit with a 3-6 record overall and they are coming off an awful loss. In the last game against the Arizona Wildcats the offense could only manage three points, and that led to the seven point defeat. Cal is averaging 22.9 points while their defense is giving up 22.2 points per game. Under center for Cal is Chase Garbers and he has thrown for 1,979 yards, 14 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Damien Moore has been the top rushing back for 511 yards and six touchdowns.

On the other side of this matchup is the Stanford Cardinal who sit with a 3-7 record overall and they have really struggled as of late. In the last game against Oregon State, they only managed 14 points while the defense gave up 35 points. Stanford is averaging 22 points while their defense is giving up 30.3 points per game. Under center for Stanford is Tanner McKee who has thrown for 1,916 yards,14 touchdowns, and five interceptions. The offense has been quite inconsistent, and if they want any chance to come away with the offense is going to need to be a lot better.

Cal is 5-2-1 against the spread in their last eight conference games. Stanford is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven home games. The under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. The favorite is 7-1-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings. The road team is 4-0-1 against the spread.

Cal’s offense is awful, but their defense was better in the last game, and I expect this is going to be a lower-scoring game. I don’t have a strong play on the side, but this will be a lower scoring game and the under will cash.
