The Arkansas Razorbacks and Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in an SEC college football showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alabama leads the all-time series against Arkansas 21-8.
The Alabama Crimson Tide comes into this game with a 9-1 record overall, and they look like they are hitting their stride at the right time. In the last game against New Mexico State, Alabama came away with the 59-3 victory. Alabama is averaging 44.6 points while their defense is giving up 18.2 points per game. Under center for Alabama is Bryce Young who has thrown for 3,025 yards, 33 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Running back Brian Robinson Jr has also rushed for 823 yards and 14 touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Arkansas Razorbacks who sit with a 7-3 record overall and in the last game against LSU it took overtime to get the job done, but they were able to come away with the 16-13 victory. Under center for Arkansas is KJ Jefferson who has thrown for 1,990 yards, 17 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also rushed for 474 yards and five touchdowns. Trelon Smith has also had a nice season rushing for 513 yards and four touchdowns. The defense against Georgia was a big issue, and that can’t happen again in this game. If the defense isn’t good in this game, it’s going to be another blowout defeat.
Arkansas is 6-2-1 against the spread in their last nine road games. Alabama is 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 home games. The over is 5-2 in Arkansas' last seven road games. The over is 17-8-1 in Alabama’s last 26 games following a straight-up win of more than 20 points.
Alabama is the much better team, and I don’t see any way Arkansas defense keeps it close. The Razorbacks defense is going to struggle in this game, and Alabama will score at least 42 points. Back the Crimson Tide to cover the spread.
