The Utah Utes will travel to Arizona Stadium to take on the Arizona Wildcats this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.
The Utah Utes won their 2nd straight game and improved to 6-3 on the season after defeating the Stanford Cardinal, 52-7, this past Friday. Utah dominated Stanford on both ends of the field and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 38-0 lead. Utah outgained Stanford by a 581-167 margin and won the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Utes was RB Tavion Thomas who had 177 rushing yards & 4 TD on 20 carries.
On the season, Utah is averaging 35.4 ppg on 434.8 total yards per game (215.8 passing yds/g; 219.0 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Utah has been led by RB Tavion Thomas who had 742 rushing yards & 14 TD on 122 carries. QB Cameron Rising has completed 63.5% of his passes for 1458 yards, 12 TD, & 2 INT while also rushing for 299 yards & 3 TD. The top receiving threats for the Utes have been Devaughn Vele (17 rec, 318 yards, TD), Brant Kuithe (32 rec, 313 yards, 4 TD), Dalton Kincaid (21 rec, 312 yards, 4 TD), & Britain Covey (34 rec, 260 yards, TD).
Defensively, Utah is allowing their opponents to average 23.2 ppg on 348.9 total yards per game (205.6 passing yds/g; 143.3 rushing yds/g).
The Arizona Wildcats snapped their 20-game losing streak and improved to 1-8 on the season after upsetting the California Golden Bears, 10-3, this past Saturday. Arizona was able to pull off the victory, however, California was playing hardly at full strength as they were missing over 24 players due to Covid-19. Arizona outgained California by a 331-122 margin, however, did commit 3 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Wildcats was QB Will Plummer who completed 16 of 28 passes for 129 yards & 2 INT while also rushing for 68 yards.
On the season, Arizona is averaging 16.0 ppg on 352.6 total yards per game (215.2 passing yds/g; 137.3 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Arizona has been led by QB Will Plummer who has completed 55.6% of his passes for 830 yards, 2 TD, & 7 INT while also rushing for a TD. The top receiving threats for the Wildcats have been Stanley Berryhill III (64 rec, 548 yards, TD), Tayvian Cunningham (18 rec, 299 yards, 2 TD), BJ Casteel (29 rec, 268 yards, TD), & Boobie Curry (13 rec, 147 yards, 2 TD). Leading the way for the Arizona backfield has been the duo of Drake Anderson (72 att, 265 yards, TD) & Michael Wiley (76 att, 249 yards, 2 TD).
Defensively, Arizona is allowing their opponents to average 28.6 ppg on 356.1 total yards per game (182.4 passing yds/g; 173.7 rushing yds/g).
The Utes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 7-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Wildcats are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
Arizona was finally able to put an end to the nation’s longest losing streak, however, don’t be mistaken, this is not a very good football team and most likely wouldn’t have won if California was at full strength. Utah continues to impress as of late with an absolute domination of Stanford on the road and has looked like a new team on the offensive end averaging 38.5 ppg since Cameron Rising took over under center 6 games below. Arizona has struggled to score all season and as I think Utah will be able to put up 40+ in this one, I’m taking Utah to cover this large road spread. Good Luck!
