The Arkansas State Red Wolves lost their 8th straight game and dropped to 1-8 on the season after being defeated by the Appalachian State Mountaineers, 48-14, this past Saturday. Arkansas State struggled offensively against Appalachian State and could not fight after a 27-yard TD run by the Mountaineers Camerun Peoples gave Appalachian State a 38-14 lead with 2:59 left in the 3rd quarter. Arkansas State was outgained by Appalachian State by a 461-199 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 3-1 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Red Wolves was QB Layne Hatcher who completed 17 of 30 passes for 137 yards, 2 TD, & 3 INT.

The UL Monroe Warhawks lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 4-5 on the season after defeating the Arkansas State Red Wolves, 27-19, this past Saturday. UL Monroe trailed by just a 20-16 margin at halftime, however, the Warhawks offense struggled in the 2nd half and could not fight back to get their first road victory of the season. The Red Wolves are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Warhawks are 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 16-33-2 ATS in their last 51 home games.
UL Monroe might be 0-4 on the road this season, however, the Warhawks have been outstanding at home this season, posting a 4-1 record, which includes impressive wins against Troy & Liberty. Arkansas State has had a long season, largely due to major issues on the defensive end as the Red Wolves come into this game ranked just 129th in scoring defense & 130th in total defense. UL Monroe has been solid offensively over the last month as they have averaged 29.8 ppg over their last 4 games and as I think they have no issues putting up plenty of points against the Red Wolves, I’m taking UL Monroe to have no issue covering this mid-range home spread. Good Luck!
