The Air Force Falcons will travel to Canvas Stadium to take on the Colorado State Rams this Saturday night in College Football action.
The Air Force Falcons lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 6-3 on the season after being defeated by the Army Black Knights, 21-14 (OT), this past Saturday. Air Force allowed Army to fight back from a 14-3 deficit in the 4th quarter to force OT and could not answer after the Black Knights opened OT with a 6-yard TD run by Christian Anderson. Air Force outgained Army by a 401-322 margin and committed 1 turnover in the loss. Leading the way for the Falcons was QB Haaziq Daniels who completed 13 of 22 passes for 226 yards & 1 TD while also rushing for 54 yards on 15 carries.
On the season, Air Force is averaging 27.6 ppg on 396.4 total yards per game (94.0 passing yds/g; 302.4 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Air Force is led by their rushing attack which ranks 1st in College Football. QB Haaziq Daniels has completed 48.7% of his passes for 788 yards, 3 TD, & 2 INT while also being the 2nd leading rusher for the Falcons with 629 yards & 9 TD on 125 carries. In the backfield with Daniels has been Brad Roberts (203 att, 913 yards, 8 TD), Micah Davis (47 att, 360 yards, 4 TD; 10 rec, 221 yards, 2 TD), & Emmanuel Michel (38 att, 233 yards, 2 TD). The top receiving threat for the Falcons has been Brandon Lewis who has 14 receptions for 322 yards.
Defensively, Air Force is holding their opponents to an average of 17.2 ppg on 285.8 total yards per game (185.3 passing yds/g; 100.4 rushing yds/g).
The Colorado State Rams lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 3-6 on the season after being defeated by the Wyoming Cowboys, 31-17, this past Saturday. Colorado State raced out to an early 7-0 lead, however, little went right for the Rams the rest of the way and Colorado State could not fight back after Wyoming took a 24-10 lead on a 25-yard TD reception by Isaiah Neyor late in the 3rd quarter. Colorado State was outgained by Wyoming by a 477-357 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Rams was TE Trey McBride who had 9 receptions for 98 yards.
On the season, Colorado State is averaging 23.1 ppg on 398.6 total yards per game (234.1 passing yds/g; 164.4 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Colorado State has been led by TE Trey McBride who has 74 receptions for 838 yards & 1 TD. QB Todd Centeio has completed 60.1% of his passes for 2073 yards, 10 TD, & 4 INT while also rushing for 375 yards & 1 TD. The other top receivers for the Rams, outside of McBride, have been Dante Wright (26 rec, 313 yards, 2 TD), Ty McCullouch (18 rec, 305 yards, TD), & Gary Williams (12 rec, 165 yards, 3 TD). Leading the way for the Rams backfield has been David Bailey who has rushed for 602 yards & 6 TD on 156 carries.
Defensively, Colorado State is holding their opponents to an average of 22.4 ppg on 329.3 total yards per game (189.3 passing yds/g; 140.0 rushing yds/g).
The Falcons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss. The Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 conference games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.
Colorado State is a solid team, however, it was concerning to see the Wyoming offense put up 31 points against the Rams, while also dominating offensively on the ground, racking up 385 rushing yards. Air Force might have lost two straight games, however, they were competitive against two very good teams in San Diego State & Army and between the fact that their rushing attack should have plenty of success in this one and that their defense has been strong, I think the Falcons do enough in this one to win by at least an FG and cover this spread. Good Luck!
