The Buffalo Bulls will travel for this matchup against the Miami Ohio RedHawks in a MAC showdown on Tuesday night. Both of these teams enter this matchup with a 4-5 record. The Redhawks have the better conference record at 3-2.

The Bulls are coming off of a loss to Bowling Green, 44-56. In that one, QB Kyle Vantrease exited early due to an injury. The senior QB is listed as questionable, but the team expects Vantrease to play. Overall, Vantrease is having a solid year, with 1702 passing yards, 8 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Whether or not Vantrease plays, won’t affect the offense as much as they run the ball on 57% of their offensive plays. The Bulls 44 run attempts per game which places them at 20th in the nation. The rush is spearheaded by Running back Dylan Mcduffee’s 769 yards per game and 5.5 yards per carry.

The pass heavy offense of the Redhawks is led by QB Brett Gabbert. The sophomore QB has 1435 passing yards and 14 touchdowns to 3 interceptions in 6 games. The RedHawks' are coming off of a narrow loss to Ohio on the road where Miami was labeled as a seven-point favorite. They will be looking to bounce back at home as the Buffalo defense gives up 231 pass yards per game.

The defense of the RedHawks has been their calling card and stands 49th against the pass and 48th against the run. They are limiting teams to only 23.7 points, landing them 55th overall. Through nine games, this team has been best at defending the run, allowing 150 yards per game. This will come in handy against a run heavy Buffalo team.

The Buffalo Bulls are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog while the RedHawks are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up loss. The trend that stands out the most for me is that the Redhawks are 3-0 at home and all three wins have occurred by at least 11 points. Buffalo will struggle against this Miami-Ohio rushing defense and with their QB being compromised last week, they’ll struggle to score overall. I’ll lay the touchdown with the RedHawks.
