The UNLV Rebels will travel to Dreamstyle Stadium to take on the New Mexico Lobos this Saturday Night in College Football action.

The UNLV Rebels are still searching for their first win as the Rebels dropped to 0-8 on the season after being defeated by the Nevada Wolf Pack on October 29th. UNLVs struggled slowing down the Nevada passing attack and could not fight back after the Wolf Pack too a 34-0 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. UNLV was outgained by Nevada by a 438-293 margin and committed 3 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Rebels WR Steve Jenkins who had 12 receptions for 133 yards & 1 TD.

On the season, UNLV is averaging 19.6 ppg on 296.3 total yards per game (191.5 passing yds/g; 104.8 rushing yds/g). Offensively, UNLV has been led by RB Charles Williams who has rushed for 749 yards & 8 TD on 162 carries while also hauling in 7 receptions for 125 yards. Defensively, UNLV is allowing their opponents to average 36.0 ppg on 447.4 total yards per game (305.3 passing yds/g; 142.1 rushing yds/g).

The New Mexico Lobos snapped their 5-game losing streak and improved to 3-5 on the season after defeating the Wyoming Cowboys, 14-3, on October 23rd. New Mexico was outstanding defensively against Wyoming and never looked back after taking an early 7-0 lead on a 43-yard TD reception by Trace Bruckler late in the 1st quarter. New Mexico outgained Wyoming by a 259-255 margin and won the turnover battle by a 2-0 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Lobos was QB Isaiah Chevez who completed 10 of 11 passes for 112 yards & 1 TD while also rushing for 49 yards.

On the season, New Mexico is averaging 14.0 ppg on 253.0 total yards per game (149.5 passing yds/g; 103.5 rushing yds/g). Offensively, New Mexico has been led by the RB duo of Aaron Dumas (83 att, 387 yards, TD) & Bobby Cole (79 att, 281 yards, TD). QB Terry Wilson (57.6 Comp %, 1055 yards, 7 TD, 4 INT) has missed the Lobos last two games due to an Elbow injury and if he is not able to go for this one, New Mexico will most likely go back with Isaiah Chevez who looked decent against Wyoming. The top receiving threats for the Lobos have been Luke Wysong (22 rec, 227 yards), Kyle Jarvis (9 rec, 145 yards, TD), & Trace Bruckler (7 rec, 119 yards, 2 TD).

Defensively, New Mexico is allowing their opponents to average 25.5 ppg on 348.6 total yards per game (199.9 passing yds/g; 148.8 rushing yds/g).

The Rebels are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 14-6-2 ATS in their last 22 games following a ATS loss. The Lobos are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games as a home favorite and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a bye week.

UNLV has yet to pick up a win this season, however, the Rebels have been competitive as they have single-digit losses against Fresno State, UTSA, Utah State, & San Jose State. New Mexico picked up a big win against Wyoming, however, this is still an offense that has really struggled as the Lobos come into this game ranked 129th in scoring offense & total offense. ULNV has struggled defensively, especially against opposing passing attacks, however, as I’m not too concerned that the Lobos offense, I think UNLV does enough in this one to pick up their first victory of the season. Take UNLV on the M/L.
