The Oregon State Beavers will travel to Folsom Field to take on the Colorado Buffaloes this Saturday night in College Football action.
The Oregon State Beavers dropped to 5-3 on the season after being defeated by the California Golden Bears, 39-25, this past Saturday. Oregon State struggled defensively against California and could not fight back after a 38-yard TD reception by Trevon Clark gave the Golden Bears a 31-17 lead going into the 4th quarter. Oregon State outgained California by a 517-377 margin and committed 3 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for the Beavers was WR Trevon Bradford who had 6 receptions for 124 yards & 2 TD.
On the season, Oregon State is averaging 33.9 ppg on 437.0 total yards per game (205.9 passing yds/g; 231.1 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Oregon State has been led by RB B.J. Baylor who has rushed for 871 yards & 10 TD on 131 carries. QB Chance Nolan who has completed 63.7% of his passes for 1504 yards, 13 TD, & 7 INT. The top receiving threats for the Beavers have been Trevon Bradford (27 rec, 402 yards, 3 TD), Tre’Shaun Harrison (14 rec, 206 yards, TD), Tyjon Lindsey (12 rec, 202 yards, 3 TD), & Champ Flemings (6 rec, 157 yards, TD).
Defensively, Oregon State is allowing their opponents to average 26.5 ppg on 407.4 total yards per game (273.5 passing yds/g; 133.9 rushing yds/g).
The Colorado Buffaloes lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 2-6 on the season after being defeated by the 7th ranked Oregon Ducks, 52-29, this past Saturday. Colorado had no answers for Anthony Brown Jr. and the Ducks offensive attack and could not fight back after a 27-yard TD reception by Devon Williams gave the Ducks a 45-14 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. Colorado was outgained by Oregon by a 568-341 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Buffaloes was QB Brendon Lewis who completed 25 of 33 passes for 224 yards & 3 TD.
On the season, Colorado is averaging 16.9 ppg on 251.0 total yards per game (130.4 passing yds/g; 120.6 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Colorado has been led by the RB duo of Jarek Broussard (90 att, 359 yards, 2 TD) & Alex Fontenot (67 att, 228 yards, 3 TD). QB Brendon Lewis has completed 59.1% of his passes for 1016 yards, 7 TD, & 3 INT. The top receiving threats for the Buffaloes have been Brenden Rice (17 rec, 280 yards, 2 TD), Brady Russell (14 rec, 184 yards), Montana Lemonious-Craig (8 rec, 101 yards, TD), & Daniel Arias (9 rec, 84 yards).
Defensively, Colorado is holding their opponents to an average of 24.6 ppg on 400.5 total yards per game (228.6 passing yds/g; 171.9 rushing yds/g).
The Beavers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Buffaloes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November, however, are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games.
Oregon State has struggled a bit on the road this season, coming into this game with just a 1-3 road record, however, when breaking down the individual matchups, there is no doubt that the Beavers are a better team. Colorado has had issues scoring the ball all season as they come into this game ranked just 123rd in scoring offense, and as I just don’t see the Buffaloes being able to keep up with B.J. Baylor and the Beavers offense, I’m taking Oregon State to cover this double-digit road spread. Good Luck!
