The Ole Miss Rebels and Auburn Tigers face off on Saturday in an SEC college football showdown at Jordan-Hare. When these two teams faced off in 2020, Auburn came away with the 35-28 victory.
The Ole Miss Rebels come into this game with a 6-1 record overall and they are coming off a 31-17 victory over LSU. The only loss came against Alabama 42-21. This is a team that has an elite offense, but their defense has improved over last year. Ole Miss is averaging 41.9 points while the defense is giving up 28.3 points per game. Quarterback Matt Corral is having a big season throwing for 1,913 yards, 15 touchdowns, and one interception. He has also rushed for 474 yards and nine touchdowns. Henry Parrish Jr. has also rushed for 407 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Auburn Tigers who sit with a 5-2 record overall and they are coming off a big win against Arkansas 38-23. The two losses for Auburn came against Georgia and Penn State. Auburn is averaging 35.4 points while the defense is giving up 19.7 points per game. Under center for Auburn is Bo Nix and he has thrown for 1,488 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. Earlier in the season Bo Nix looked to be losing the job, but now he is a player who looks like a guy who could lead the Tigers to a very successful season. In this game if Auburn wants a chance to come away with the victory, the defense is going to need to be good.
Ole Miss is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as a road underdog. Ole Miss is 3-7 against the spread in their last ten games against teams with a winning record. The road team is 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five meetings.
Ole Miss should be the favorite in this game. Ole Miss is an elite offensive team and they are going to run up the score in this game. Look for Ole Miss to finish with at least 40 points, and Auburn is going to have issues keeping up. Back Ole Miss to cover the spread. I will also be throwing a few dollars on Ole Miss to win this game on the money lin
