The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will travel to S.B. Ballard Stadium to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 2-5 on the season after being defeated by the 24th ranked UTSA Roadrunners, 45-16, this past Saturday. Louisiana Tech led by a 10-7 margin after the 1st quarter, however, the Bulldogs struggled the rest of way and could not fight back after 35 unanswered points by UTSA gave the Roadrunners a 42-10 lead with 12:38 left in the 4th quarter. Louisiana Tech outgained UTSA by a 408-406 margin, however, lost the turnover battle by a 3-0 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was WR Smoke Harris who had 108 receiving yards & 1 TD on 7 receptions.
On the season, Louisiana Tech is averaging 26.6 ppg on 393.1 total yards per game (277.4 passing yds/g; 115.7 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Louisiana Tech has been led by QB Austin Kendall who has completed 60.9% of his passes for 1621 yards, 12 TD, & 9 INT while also rushing for 160 yards & 3 TD. The top receiving threats for the Bulldogs have been Smoke Harris (37 rec, 392 yards, 2 TD), Bub Means (18 rec, 343 yards, 2 TD), Tre Harris (22 rec, 293 yards, 3 TD), & Samuel Emilus (14 rec, 220 yards, 3 TD). Leading the way for the Bulldogs backfield has been led by Marcus Williams Jr. who has 425 rushing yards & 2 TD on 96 carries.
Defensively, Louisiana Tech is allowing their opponents to average 33.0 ppg on 450.1 total yards per game (297.0 passing yds/g; 153.1 rushing yds/g).
The Old Dominion Monarchs lost their 5th straight game and dropped to 1-6 on the season after being defeated by the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers by a 43-20 margin on October 16th. Old Dominion had no answers early for the Western Kentucky passing attack and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 30-3 margin. Old Dominion was outgained by Western Kentucky by a 518-446 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 3-1 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Monarchs was WR Ali Jennings III who had 13 receptions for 172 yards.

Offensively, Old Dominion has been led by the RB duo of Blake Watson (89 att, 443 yards, 2 TD) & Elijah Davis (59 att, 324 yards, 3 TD). QB Hayden Wolf took over starting duties for D.J. Mack Jr. and despite a couple of turnovers, Wolff was solid against Western Kentucky as he completed 26 of 41 passes for 327 yards & 2 INT. The top receiving threats for the Monarchs have been Zack Kuntz (31 rec, 381 yards, 2 TD), Ali Jennings III (28 rec, 380 yards, 2 TD), Javon Harvey (10 rec, 100 yards), & Isaiah Spencer (10 rec, 97 yards, 2 TD).

The Bulldogs are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing record, however, are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite. The Monarchs are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home, however, are just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games.
I’m going to be looking at the Over/Under in this one as although both teams are coming off poor offensive performances, I think both offenses will be able to find success in this one. Louisiana tech has scored just 19 points over the past two weeks, however, this is a team that we saw earlier this season put up 27+ points in 4 of their first 5 games and should have success against an Old Dominion defense that is allowing 31.4 ppg. Old Dominion got some solid production from Hayden Wolf and if he was able to throw for 325+ yards last week, he should have plenty of success against a Louisiana Tech defense that ranks 111th in scoring defense & 126th in passing defense. This is not going to be a game I’m rushing to the betting counter to get big money on, however, if I do get some action on it, it will be with the Over 52.5.
