The Colorado Buffaloes and Oregon Ducks face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college football showdown at Autzen Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019, Oregon came away with the 45-3 victory.
The Colorado Buffaloes have had some struggles this season and they currently sit with a 2-5 record overall. The biggest issue for most of the season has been with the offense, and in the last game against California they lost 26-3. The Buffaloes are averaging 15.1 points while the defense is giving up 20.7 points per game. Colorado has gotten out to slow starts to games averaging only 1.43 points per game in the 1st quarter. Under center for Colorado is Brendon Lewis and he has thrown for 792 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions. Running back Jarek Broussard has also had a big season rushing for 337 yards, and two touchdowns. In this game if they want to win, they are going to need to get the offense going early.
On the other side of this matchup is the Oregon Ducks who sit with a 6-1 record overall, and they have won two games in a row. In the last game, against UCLA it was a little closer than they wanted, but they were able to win by three points. Oregon is averaging 33.9 points while the defense is giving up 22.4 points. Under center for Oregon is Anthony Brown and he has thrown for 1,490 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. The best back this season has been Travis Dye and he has rushed for 562 yards and eight touchdowns. IN the last game against UCLA he had four touchdowns.
Colorado is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games. Oregon is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight conference games. Colorado is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven meetings against Oregon. The favorite is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven meetings.
Colorado’s offense is a problem, and not in a good way. Look for the Buffalo to struggle to score against Oregon, and that lack of scoring will lead to them losing in blowout fashion. Back Oregon to win and cover the spread.
