The Navy Midshipmen will visit the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in this Week 9 college football matchup. Navy is 1-6 on the season as they head to H.A. Chapman Stadium in Oklahoma.
Navy stinks and their record doesn’t help their argument against that. The only bright spot for this team seems to come at the defensive end as their losses have come against opponents who are extremely better than them. Linebacker Diego Fagot has 73 tackles, one sack, one INT and two forced fumbles. Tulsa is another mismatch for the Navy Middies, but at just .500 on the season, they aren’t as dominant as a team like Houston and Cincinnati. After keeping it close against Cincinnati last week, where they were 27-point dogs, Navy looks to do the same in Tulsa.
Tulsa isn’t that dominant as they struggled to beat a poor USF team 2 weeks go. They were down 11 going into the 4th in a game in which they were favored by more than a touchdown coming in. They won the game on a three yard rush in the final minute. This team has a solid offense and as we saw in their last matchup, that offense can get them out of jams. But defensively this team is not disciplined as they ranked in the bottom third against the pass.
Coming off of a bye week Tulsa may be well rested, but Navy has to be feeling confident covering in their last game. They are also 4-0 ATS in their last 4 trips to Tulsa. Tulsa wins, but not by a lot, I’ll take the points with Navy.
