The Kansas State Wildcats will travel to Jones AT&T Stadium to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.
The Kansas State Wildcats lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 3-3 on the season after being defeated by the Iowa State Cyclones, 33-20, this past Saturday. Kansas State struggled slowing down Breece Hall and the Iowa State rushing attack and could not fight back after the Cyclones took a 27-7 lead with 2:55 left in the 3rd quarter. Kansas State was outgained by Iowa State by a 418-342 margin and committed 1 turnover in the loss. Leading the way for the Wildcats was QB Skylar Thompson who completed 15 of 23 passes for 206 yards, 2 TD, & 1 INT while also rushing for 1 TD.
On the season, Kansas State is averaging 27.3 ppg on 357.3 total yards per game (194.8 passing yds/g; 162.5 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Kansas State has been led by RB Deuce Vaughn who has 543 rushing yards & 5 TD on 108 carries while also hauling in 23 receptions for 234 yards & 2 TD. QB Skylar Thompson has completed 68.3% of his passes for 766 yards, 5 TD, & 3 INT while also rushing for 3 TD. The leading receivers from the Wildcats have been Phillip Brooks (20 rec, 279 yards, 2 TD), Malik Knowles (17 rec, 218 yards, TD), & Daniel Imatorbhebhe (6 rec, 152 yards, TD).
Defensively, Kansas State is allowing their opponents to average 24.7 ppg on 355.2 total yards per game (248.2 passing yds/g; 107.0 rushing yds/g).
The Texas Tech Red Raiders improved to 5-2 on the season after defeating the Kansas Jayhawks, 41-14, this past Saturday. Texas Tech dominated Kansas on both ends of the field and had no trouble securing the victory after going into the 4th quarter with a 38-0 lead. Texas Tech outgained Kansas by a 438-273 margin and forced 1 turnover in the victory. Leading the way for the Red Raiders was QB Henry Colombi who completed 14 of 20 passes for 124 yards, 1 TD, & 1 INT while also rushing for 35 yards & 1 TD.
On the season, Texas Tech is averaging 35.7 ppg on 455.1 total yards per game (286.9 passing yds/g; 168.3 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Texas Tech is led by QB Henry Colombi who has completed 65.5% of his passes for 1066 yards, 4 TD, & 3 INT. The top receiving threats for the Red Raiders have been led by Erik Ezukanma (31 rec, 505 yards, 1 TD), Kaylon Geiger Sr. (29 rec, 436 yards, TD), Myles Price (14 rec, 174 yards, 1 TD), & Loic Fouonji (8 rec, 171 yards, TD). Leading the way for the Red Raiders backfield has been the duo of SaRodorick Thompson (63 att, 314 yards, 6 TD) & Xavier White (44 att, 229 yards, 2 TD).
Defensively, Texas Tech is allowing their opponents to average 31.4 ppg on 386.6 total yards per game (224.7 passing yds/g; 161.9 rushing yds/g).
The Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Red Raiders are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win.
Texas Tech once again is solid on the offensive end, however, there is no doubt that Henry Colombi doesn’t bring the same explosiveness as Tyler Shough and their defense has not been great as they come into this game ranked just 101st in scoring defense. TCU was able to put up 52 points against the Red Raiders and as I think the Red Raiders will have trouble slowing down Skylar Thompson & Deuce Vaughn in this one, I think Kansas State bounces back here with a win. Take Kansas State to win this pick-em.
