The Texas A&M Aggies and Missouri Tigers face off on Saturday in an SEC college football showdown at Faurot Field. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2014, and Missouri won that game 34-27.
Texas A&M currently sits with a 4-2 record overall, but they are coming off their biggest win of the season, and one of the most important wins in the last couple of decades. In the last game against Alabama, the offense was elite scoring 41 points, and that was enough to pull off the three-point victory. Quarterback Zach Calzada had a big game completing 21 of his 31 passes for 285 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Texas A&M is averaging 26.3 points while the defense is giving up 16.83 points. This is a defense first team, and they are going to need to lean on that again in this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Missouri Tigers who sit with a 3-3 record and they have lost two of their last three games. In the last game against North Texas, Missouri was able to win, but the defense still gave up 35 points, and that has to be a big concern going forward. Missouri is averaging 37.8 points while the defense is giving up 37.5 points per game. Missouri is averaging 11 points in the first quarter, and getting out to a fast start will be a key again in this game. Under center is Connor Bazelak and he has thrown for 1,690 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Texas A&M is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games. Missouri is 5-18 against the spread in their last 23 games overall. The under is 10-3 in Texas A&M’s last 13 road games. Texas A&M is 1-4 against the spread in the last five meetings against Missouri.
Texas A&M’s offense looked good in the last game, but for the most part this season, it hasn’t been that strong, and this is a letdown spot for the Aggies after their big win against Alabama. Bazelak is going to have a big game for Missouri, and the Tigers will keep it close. Back Missouri against the spread.
