The 20th ranked Florida Gators will travel to Tiger Stadium (LA) to take on the LSU Tigers this Saturday afternoon in College Football action.

The 20th ranked Florida Gators improved to 4-2 on the season after defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores, 42-0, this past Saturday. Florida dominated Vanderbilt defensively and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 21-0 lead. Florida outgained Vanderbilt by a 479-287 margin and forced 2 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Gators was QB Emory Jones who completed 14 of 22 passes for 273 yards, 4 TD, & 1 INT while also rushing for 40 yards.

On the season, Florida is averaging 33.2 ppg on 504.2 total yards per game (230.3 passing yds/g; 273.8 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Florida has been led by QB Emory Jones who has completed 68.2% of his passes for 1144 yards, 9 TD, & 7 INT and leads the Gators in rushing with 478 yards & 2 TD on 75 carries. Florida also has a talented backup QB in Anthony Richardson who is a major threat with his legs as he has 311 rushing yards & 2 TD’s on 21 carries. In the Gators backfield has been the duo of Malik Davis (49 att, 279 yards, 3 TD) & Dameon Pierce (41 att, 238 yards, 7 TD). The top receiving threats for the Gators have been Jacob Copeland (21 rec, 370 yards, 3 TD), Xzavier Henderson (11 rec, 163 yards, TD), & Trent Whittemore (13 rec, 134 yards, TD).

Defensively, Florida is holding their opponents to an average of 16.5 ppg on 319.2 total yards per game (208.3 passing yds/g; 110.8 rushing yds/g).

The LSU Tigers lost their 2nd straight game and dropped to 3-3 on the season after being defeated by the 16th ranked Kentucky Wildcats, 42-21, this past Saturday. LSU had no answers on the defensive end for the Wildcats and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 28-7 margin. LSU was outgained by Kentucky by a 475-408 margin and lost the turnover battle by a 1-0 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Tigers was RB Tyrion Davis-Price who had 147 rushing yards & 2 TD’s on 22 carries.

On the season, LSU is averaging 29.7 ppg on 379.3 total yards per game (296.2 passing yds/g; 83.25 rushing yds/g). Offensively, LSU has been led by Max Johnson who has completed 61.6% of his passes for 1729 yards, 17 TD, & 4 INT. The top receiving threats for the Tigers have been Kayshon Boutte (38 rec, 508 yards, 9 TD), Jack Bech (22 rec, 272 yards, TD), Brian Thomas Jr. (14 rec, 188 yards), Deion Smith (11 rec, 186 yards, 2 TD), & Trey Palmer (12 rec, 142 yards, 2 TD). LSU suffered a major blow last weekend as they lost their top receiver, Kayshon Boutte, for the season due to a leg injury. The LSU backfield has been led by the duo of Tyrion Davis-Price (67 att, 287 yards, 2 TD) & Corey Kiner (36 att, 170 yards, 2 TD).

Defensively, LSU is allowing their opponents to average 26.2 ppg on 385.0 total yards per game (230.8 passing yds/g; 154.2 rushing yds/g).

The Gators are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games, however, are just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite. The Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in October and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points.

This is a bunch of points for Florida to cover on the road, however, LSU just looks like they are on a nosedive and with the injury to arguably their top offensive weapon in Kayshon Boutte, you have to imagine the LSU offense will have a harder time finding the end zone. Florida comes into this game with the 40th ranked offense in CFB and as I think Emery Jones and Gators can put up 35+ points in this one, I think the Gators do enough in this one to cover this double-digit spread. Good Luck!
