The Oregon State Beavers and Washington State Cougars face off on Saturday in a Week 6 Pac-12 college football showdown at Martin Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2020, Washington State came away with the 38-28 victory.
Oregon State has been one of the most impressive teams in the Pac-12 sitting with a 4-1 record. They opened up the season with a loss against Purdue, but since that point, they have won four games in a row. The last two wins came against USC and Washington. Oregon State almost blew the last game against the Huskies but they held on late. They are averaging 36 points while the defense is giving up 21.6 points. The Beavers are led at quarterback by Chance Nolan and he has thrown for 895 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. Running back B.J. Baylor is also having a big year rushing for 533 yards and nine touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Washington State Cougars who sit with a 2-3 record overall but they are coming off a big win against Cal. The defense was strong, giving up only six points, and that led to the 15 point victory. Washington State is averaging 23 points while the defense is giving up 25 points. Jayden de Laura is under center for Washington State and he has thrown for 794 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions. Max Borghi and Deon McIntosh have split carries and have both rushed for over 200 yards. The offense needs a balanced attack in this game to find success.
Oregon State is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games. Washington State is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in October. Oregon State is 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games on the road against Washington State. The over is 8-0 in the last eight meetings
I don’t trust Washington State’s offense and Oregon State is going to run up the score in this game. Look for B.J Baylor to run wild against Washington State’s defense and this one will get out of hand early. Back Oregon State to cover the spread.
