The North Texas Mean Green and Missouri Tigers face off on Saturday in a non-conference college football showdown at Faurot Field. The last time these two teams faced off was in 1995 and Missouri won 20-17.
North Texas has gotten out to a very slow start to the season winning only one of their first three games. That one win came against Northwestern State in the first game of the season, and the offense scored 44 points in the last game. In the last game against Louisiana Tech, the offense scored only 17 points, and that led to the seven-point defeat. North Texas is averaging 19.7 points while the defense is giving up 28.2 points. Under center for North Texas is Jace Ruder and he has thrown for 544 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions. Austin Aune might also get playing time and he has thrown for 213 yards and a touchdown. DeAndre Torrey has been the best running back rushing for 516 yards and four touchdowns.
On the other side of this matchup is the Missouri Tigers who have lost two games in a row, including the last game against Tennessee where the defense gave up 62 points. Missouri is averaging 35.8 points while the defense is giving up 38 points per game. Connor Bazelak is having a big season for Missouri throwing for 1,522 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions. The best running back has been Tyler Badie and he has rushed for 458 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, Missouri clearly has some issues and they need to be better in this game.
North Texas is 6-0 against the spread in their last six games against the SEC. Missouri is 5-17 against the spread in their last 22 games overall. The under is 15-5 in North Texas’s last 20 road games. The over is 4-0 in Missouri’s last four games overall.
North Texas has covered their last six spreads against the SEC and it’s going to happen again in this game. Missouri’s defense is awful and they are going to get lit up again in this game. North Texas might not win this game, but they are getting way too many points. Back North Texas against the spread.
